WHERE: East College Avenue, Hartsville, S.C.
WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 3, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Rock/Soul group The Reggie Sullivan Band will appear in the first October concert of the Thursdays on College series this week, taking place Oct. 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This third concert of the fall series is sponsored by the Campus Activities Board of Coker College.

Formed in early 2012, the group’s star has been rising since the release of their album “Together” in June 2012. Since then, they have appeared in concerts, festivals and competitions in Columbia and around the Southeast. Claiming influences from Ray Charles to John Coltrane and the Beatles, the group includes renowned jazz musician Reggie Sullivan on bass and vocals, Zach Bingham on guitar, a veteran of performing styles from rock to jazz and everything in between, and Brendan Bull on drums, a percussionist with experience playing alongside a wide variety of Midlands musicians.

Presented by the City of Hartsville and Hartsville Downtown Development Association, the fall Thursdays on College series kicked off in September, attracting crowds of concertgoers and local vendors alike. Hartsville’s D&B Entertainment has provided sound for the concerts. Thursday’s event will include food and drink for sale, as well as child care services offered at Nana’s Play Zone, 125 N. Fifth St., and reached at 843.332.7513.

Thursdays on College will not be over after the concert, with one date remaining in the series. Erica Lynn Berg and the band Wine Down will travel from Greenville to Hartsville on Oct. 17 in a concert sponsored by First Citizens Bank and Nucor Corporation.
